Hamilton Accies 7-0 Wishaw Wycombe

28th March 2015, Hamilton Palace Grounds

With thanks to grandparent Billy McCann for his report

Very cold and windy morning playing on grass at the pitch is a little wet to say the least.

TEAM

Samantha

Eve, Jamie Lee, Emily, Tara

Emma Jai, Rhegan, Morgan, Teigan

Emma R, Lucy H

Subs: Chloe (GK), Bethany, Lucy F, Maria & Karen

The park was a bit water logged in parts but not enough to cancel the game.

First Half: The first ten minutes both teams were getting used to pitch heavy conditions. From then on Accies took control of the game and Teiganscored with a great run on the 13th minute.  Accies kept the pressure on with some good strikes from Rhegan, Morgan, Lucy H and Morgan and a great header by Eve was saved off the line from Emma's corner on the 22nd minute. Then on the 24th minute a excellent individual goal from Emma.

27th Minute SUBS: Lucy F, Maria, Karen and Bethany on for Teigan,Rhegan, Emma Jai & Tara.

On the 31st minute we were all looking for a free kick after a foul on Karen when there was an OG from Wishaw!

Second Half: This half started as the first finished with Accies in full control with a 1st minute goal from Lucy H assisted by Emma. Some great football from Accies even though the pitch was very heavy and there was a very strong wind.  Strikes by Lucy F and Karen saw one wide and one saved. On the 12th minute Teigan, Emma Jai and Rhegan were back on and straight away great pass from Rhegan to Teigan for a goal! WW down to 10 players and Accies continued to control the game, Teigan returned the favour with a lovely lay off to Rhegan for another goal on the 25th minute. On the 28th minute Accies got a free kick just outside the penalty area, Emma Jai stepped up and after a great save by WW goalie, it fell to Lucy F, again cleared off the line only to fall to Emma Jai. This time straight in to the back of the net! With the game more or less over the coaches put Emily up front for the last 10 minutes to see if shecould score. She had at least five attempts but was thwarted every time. Giving WW their due they did not give up and four corners in the last 10 minutes forced three good saves from Chloe.

Conclusion: Accies are getting used to playing on a heavy grass park. Accies has a very strong back four with Eve, Jamie Lee, Emily and Tara. A great overall performance from every single player. Some exceptional play from Lucy H, Teigan, Eve the ever consistent Emily (Great Captain). Very hard one to call this week but due to Lucy H's tremendous work rate she just pips it as the Player of the Match.
