Doctor focused more on the few weeks off ahead though, and seeing his side regroup for the second half of the season.

"The break comes at a good time as I think we have running on empty these past few weeks. Injuries and niggles on top of the long term absences have been a real problem as well as continually missing players through holidays.

"Today we were missing 8 players as well as those playing far from 100% fit or carrying knocks, and it showed in how disjointed and how we lacked any cohesive play particularly in the first half.

"Credit to Celtic they took advantage of that."

It only took Celtic ten minutes to find the net, Maddie Fulton's strike was parried away by Elaine Fleming, but Johnston was in position to pounce and follow it up.

Johnston then turned provider to pair up with Sam McManus to set up Littlejohn who rolled the ball home six later.

Just after twenty, it was three nil as Celtic again broke through the Accies defence leaving Paton to slide her low shot past Fleming.

Littlejohn doubled her tally on the 34th, her twenty yard strike hit off the post and rolled along the line before the referee awarded the goal.

Three later, a mix up between Leslie and Deborah McLeod for a header saw neither win it, gifting Littlejohn the chance to send her through ball into the area for Paton to knock it in.

Kylla Sjoman's cross towards Hamilton's back post let Johnston shoot, but the ball bounced off Leslie's foot and over the line as the youngster moved to clear it on the 51st.

Hamilton kept Celtic at bay for the best part of the half but Craig nodded in a Littlejohn cross on the 73rd as Accies ended the first half of the season on a low note.

Celtic get the

better of Accies

BY: COLETTE CARR

Celtic Women showed no mercy as they stuck seven past Gary Doctor's Accies who were "running on empty".

Five in the first period among Niamh Johnston, Ruesha Littlejohn, Joanne Paton killed the game, before an own goal from Lauren Leslie and a Chloe Craig effort finished it in the second for the Celts.
