Young Accies undone by Gers

Gary Doctor thought his team deserved more, after Hamilton Accies Women opened their league account for 2015 with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of ex-manager Kevin Murphy's Rangers.
Doctor's side were bettered by Lisa Swanson, Hayley Cunningham and Kirsty Howat at New Douglas Park on Sunday ahead of another tricky league fixture away to Hibs - who hammered Accies 8-0 in the League Cup just a fortnight ago.
Doctor said it was a step in the right direction though, as his young side continued to come together despite the loss.
He said; "It was a good performance by us and we just didn't get our rewards.
"The turning point was Megan McFadden going off injured as we were having our best spell. The reshuffle in defense probably contributed to their second goal and they got a couple late on as we threw people forward to try and get back in it."
He added that the game wasn't a complete loss as his side continues to grow and become the team he wants.
"Overall I can't fault the effort, attitude and work of the players in terms of our game plan."
Swanson netted early for Rangers, tapping in Howat's low cross after only eight minutes.
Gillian Inglis threatened the Rangers area four later, but it was cleared easily by the visitors.
Not even ten minutes after the restart,
Accies had to introduce under-17s player
Abbi McDonald after Megan McFadden was
forced off through injury, and three
minutes later Jordan Daloisio struck over
after a great through ball from Deborah
McLeod.
On the 70 minute mark Cunningham's low
strike forced a good stop from Fleming,
but Cunningham pounced on the rebound to double the Gers' advantage.
Cunningham's long range effort four minutes later saw her complete her brace and push the gap to three.
Inglis then went on a blazing run down the left flank before switching to Lori Gardner who tried her luck from distance, but was too high.
A minute later and with only four of normal time to go, Howat delivered the final blow, beating Fleming in the one on one to bring it to four.
Earlier in the week saw the official Scottish Women's Premier League launch at Hampden Park.
Accies captain Inglis was joined by players from each of the other eleven clubs for the media call ahead of the opening week, seeing players square off with there opposing number for the weekend ahead.
