UNDER-15S FRIENDLY: Hibs 5-2 Hamilton Accies

14th February 2015, Edinburgh

Big thanks to parent Billy McCann for the commentary from Saturday's preseason trip to Hibs. Accies down to the bare bones today due to injuries, illness and late call offs. No keeper yet!

TEAM

Emma Jai, Eve, Emma F, Emily, Rhegan, Karen, Teigan, Lucy F, Emma R, Lucy H

Big thanks to Emma Jai for stepping up to the mark taking on the goalie role.

Hibs were a big and strong team, like most of the Premier League's youth teams.

The first half was fairly equal with Hibs just shaving it.

First Half:

0.04 Rhegan laid off a lovely pass to Lucy H, who had a good shot on target.

0.08 Hibs had Accies under a little pressure and finally got a goal, but Accies played some good football and put Hibs under pressure.

0.21 Hibs then turned it round to force some good stops from Emma Jai.

0.25 Finally with good passing Accies got a free kick. Teigan stepped up with a good strike on target but it was a comfortable save for their keeper.

0.33 A good strike by Hibs but a great save by Emma Jai.

0.37 Still keeping the pressure on, Accies got another free kick, this time Teigan forced the keeper to make a great save.

0.38 Emma R finally got the equaliser, through a great goal just before half time.

Second Half:

0.40 Both teams began the second working hard trying to get the lead.

0.46 Accies get a free kick just outside the 18 yard box on the right. Emma R opted for this as it perfect for her left foot. She sent her great shot right into the top left hand corner for the goal.

0.49 Hibs lifted their game and got a free kick just outside the box. Another great save from Emma Jai.

0.53 Hibs kept pushing the visitors and eventually got their equaliser.

0.55 Teigan managed to break through, but her final shot went wide.

0.57 End to end football before Hibs scored an easy goal to take the lead.

0.64 Changes for Accies next, with Ciara from the 13s then going in goal and Emma Jai dropping into midfield, as Teigan moved up front.

0.74 Good football from both teams, however, Hibs had more pressure and grabbed another goal.

0.78 Goal mouth stramash and an own goal after poor clearing from Accies to give Hibs their fifth.

Conclusions:

  • Accies did not have a full squad, had no recognised keeper and 3 new girl's from the 13s.

  • Very little training due the weather and new positions for some of the girls.

  • The back four looked good with new girl Emma F looking very promising, the other new girls Lucy F and Karen worked very hard and once they settled in, I am positive they will be a major asset for the team.

  • The remainder of the team worked there socks off and not one bad performance from any of them.

  • The score did not reflect the level that the girls have reached.

  • I feel that this season we will have no problem competing in this league.

  • Special mention for Lucy H who was a trojan throughout game, work rate tremendous.
