Accies end Forfar's winning run

More like this:

was a really competitive game.
"In the first half there could've been a lot of goals for either side, but obviously getting the goal right before half time gives everyone a boost and something to hold onto the second half.
"It's good for us at last to have a squad of players that allows us to make early changes if we need to if something's not quite right or a few girls are carrying injuries, and despite having four or five missing today we still had four on the bench which was good."
Both teams created in the opening stages, and Carolina Richardson tried to hook it past Fiona McNicoll but couldn't turn in Amie McGill's freekick from just inside the Forfar half on the 25th.
Hamilton were angered by the referee deep into the half as two blatant handballs close to the official were waved away with the score still at nil nil.
Poor defending from the Forfar backline saw the dubious goal arrive just before half time, as Gallen looked to hit it in from close range with the help of the defender.
Forfar came out in the second half pushing for the equaliser and found themselves offside on a number of occasions proving too keen.
On the hour mark Megan Quinn's corner made its way back out to Tiffany Kawana-Waugh, but her ball in was headed over by an offside Richardson.
Richardson went agonisingly close to getting on the scoresheet after her tame effort bounced through McNicoll's legs, but it stopped on the line and gave her enough time to react.
With numerous chances for both sides in the closing stages Accies held on just long enough to cap off their last NDP outing of the season with a win before travelling to Inverness in two weeks to see the season out.

A debatable Laura Gallen/own

goal on the stroke of half time

was enough to bag the three

points in the tight clash.

And manager Gary Doctor was delighted to enjoy another victory at New Douglas Park.

"It was a bit odd and ironic that it was another own goal against them that won it for us but it
