Hamilton Accies made it two wins out of two after taking Inverness City 2-1, but manager Gary Doctor said that the last minute City penalty did not reflect the game.

Accies dominated across the 90, but a last minute questionable spotkick left the game looking tighter than it was. Tiffany Kawana-Waugh and Gillian Inglis netted for Hamilton before Natalie Bodiam grabbed one back, but Doctor was pleased with the three points nonetheless.

"I think the team played with confidence and purpose and we've dominated the game but I think the score was unfair on us.

"The last minute penalty made it look closer than it was and a couple of girls could've had three goals each, it was just one of they days were at times you felt it was never coming, but for the last 15 we were really comfortable with a strong team performance."

He added that having his team and plans all fit together all helped on the day.

"We're starting to see things coming together. Jacqui Seagrave up front for us gave us a real focal point and then it was a nice move from Gill to time her run then a defence splitting pass from Deborah, I thought she'd maybe taken it too far, but quite an emphatic finish to smash it in."

The hosts controlled the opening stages of the game, creating plenty of chances, but it was around the half hour mark when Kawana-Waugh drew the first blood, heading Megan Quinn's corner across goal and into the far corner opening her Accies account.

Inverness responded quickly though, forcing a double save from Elaine Fleming, but Hamilton held onto their lead going into the break.

The second half started brightly for Accies again, with Inglis, Seagrave and Laura Gallen all seeing their efforts just wide.

Inglis burst the net on the 68th, as Deborah McLeod split the City defence before the fullback burst into their box and finished in style with the shot from a tight angle.

With ten to go McLeod nearly made it three as her header from right in front of goal crashed off the post and was cleared to safety.

The highland outfit pulled one back in controversial circumstances in the dying stages though, as the centre forward looked to go down quite easily in the Accies area, seeing the penalty awarded and converted just before the final whistle.

Accies now go from bottom of the table clashes to facing champions Glasgow City next week now in Airdrie.
